REACH

This new EU Chemicals Regulation was established to protect the interests of consumers and to simplify the distribution of chemical substances. Already in 2001 the EU commission represented their so-called "White Paper" for chemical policy and in October 2003 agreed on a proposal for a new European legal framework: the REACH-system. REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restrition of Chemicals.
After a long and controversial legislative procedure REACH entered into force June 1, 2007 as the new chemicals law applicable throughout Europe (Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006). For more information please take a look at our REACH-presentation:
